Who You Are

We're looking for a skilled, motivated, and compassionate Social Worker to join our busy Front Door Service within Adult Social Care. In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact at the point of first contact.

What the Job Involves

As a Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in responding to new contacts and referrals, working collaboratively with residents, families, carers, and partner organisations to promote wellbeing, independence, and timely support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking complex Care Act assessments, risk assessments, and safeguarding enquiries with a strengths-based and outcome-focused approach
  • Responding to concerns at the front door, using professional judgement for proportionate, timely, and defensible decision-making
  • Applying safeguarding principles in line with Making Safeguarding Personal and local procedures
  • Carrying out Mental Capacity Act assessments and supporting best-interest decision-making
  • Providing information, advice, and signposting to preventive and community-based options
  • Working closely with multi-agency partners such as health, housing, police, and voluntary sector organisations
  • Managing competing priorities in a high-demand environment while maintaining quality, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Maintaining clear, timely, and high-quality case recording in line with statutory and organisational standards
  • Contributing to a culture of reflective practice, learning, and continuous improvement
