Who You Are

As an EHCP Coordinator, you are an empathetic and organized individual, passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. You bring a deep understanding of SEND legislation and educational practices, and you are committed to fostering inclusive education. You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with families, educational settings, and other professionals.

What the Job Involves

The role of an EHCP Coordinator involves coordinating all aspects of the Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) process for children and young people with SEND. This includes producing high-quality EHCPs, managing caseloads, liaising with families and professionals, and attending relevant meetings. You will ensure that EHCPs are clear and well-structured, monitor their implementation, and support children transitioning between educational phases. Additionally, you will be responsible for upholding statutory processes and deadlines, managing conflicting priorities, and ensuring the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the Council's safeguarding policy.

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation and practices
  • Experience with educational provision and decision-making processes

  • Proficient in ICT, including Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Able to travel throughout Worcestershire
