Who You Are

The ideal candidate is compassionate, dedicated, and committed to assisting individuals in regaining their independence. You have experience in adult social care and are proactive in promoting and aiding independence among service users. You'll be working in a 30-bed reablement unit, and you should be willing to participate in training and personal development. You should embody the values of the Liverpool City Council and respect cultural, spiritual, and religious needs.

What the job involves

As a Reablement Assistant, you will aid service users in achieving independence as per their care plans. Your responsibilities include assisting with daily living and household tasks, liaising with professionals to minimize risk, and administering medication. You'll work closely with individuals to enhance skills needed for independent living, and engage with families and other agencies to ensure coordinated service delivery. You will contribute to maintaining records and will be required to work flexible shifts. The position demands accountability in resource management, supporting recreational activities, and adhering to council policies and safety practices.

Skills

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in adult social care setting
  • Proficiency in promoting and assisting with independence
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong listening skills
  • Ability to follow a designated reablement programme
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work shifts between 8am and 10pm
  • Subject to a DBS check at an appropriate level
